Trauma bonding occurs when an abused person forms an unhealthy bond with the person who abuses them. It is a connection between an abusive person and the individual they abuse.
It typically occurs when the abused person begins to develop sympathy or affection for the abuser. This bond can develop over days, weeks, or months. Not everyone who experiences abuse develops a trauma bond.

Failure to Launch is a movie staring that takes a comical look at a very real issue. In the movie you see parents hire a third party, played by Kate Hudson, to help their son ‘launch’ in life. In the movie, you see examples of the extreme in this situation. A grown son, coasting through life with no desire or ambition to be successful or to ‘adult’ well. While this comedy provides light-hearted entertainment to those who watch it, it also gives insight into a very real problem facing many families today.
